Doctor’s salary adjustment: we’ll reciprocate government’s gesture- Ogun NMA
The recent implementation of appropriate renumeration of medical doctors in the service of Ogun State Government will increase the productivity and dedication of medical practitioners to work given their morale which has been given a boost.
This was revealed by the Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association ( NMA), Ogun State Chapter, Dr. Oladayo Ogunlaja, during a “thank you” visit to the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker,in her Oke-Mosan office, Abeokuta.
Dr. Ogunlaja, who described the Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration as a listening government, said that doctors in Ogun State can now be at par with their colleagues in the Federal Government employment.
He commended Dr. Coker for her role in ensuring that the whole efforts sailed through, saying that doctors in the State have more reasons to trust her.
The Chairman assured that the association will reciprocate government’s gesture by being more dedicated to work, pointing out that the effects of the gesture would be evidents in the way they take care of patients.
“We have come to appreciate the government on the successful implementation of appropriate renumeration for medical doctors under the employment of Ogun State.
” As a responsible association, we will reciprocate the gesture. Our members will be more productive and dedicated to work. The effects of this gesture will be evident in the way we take care of our patients,” Ogunlaja said.
In her remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Coker, admonished the doctors to work towards improving on patient satisfaction such that will portray the compassionate side of medical practice.
She said that the appropriate renumeration which would put Ogun in a better stead will stem the tide of attrition both locally and internationally.
