PDP urges Nigerian leaders to emulate Lateef Jakande
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has charged Nigerian leaders at all levels to emulate the humility, patriotism, and the life of service exhibited by the first civilian governor of Lagos state and former Minister of Works, Alhaji Lateef Jakande.
Expressing sadness over the death of late Alhaji Jakande, in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan, the party holds that the life of the late leader remains a true stencil and his exceptional patriotism was demonstrated in his manifest spurn for materialism.
The party also recalled the role of Alhaji Jakande in the development of the Nigerian Media Industry especially in instilling professionalism as well as stabilizing the industry with the establishment of the Newspapers Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN).
The PDP, therefore, commiserate with Jakande’s family, the Governor, and the people of Lagos State and prayed for God to grant the nation the fortitude to bear the loss of the man they described as one of the brightest patriots in the land.
