Senator Yayi Mourns Prof. Odemuyiwa

Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) has expressed great shock and sadness over the sudden and tragic death of Professor Joseph Odemuyiwa in a motor accident yesterday on his way to Ibadan where he lecturers at Leads University.

Professor Odemuyiwa, a foremost educationist and a grassroots politician, was until recent time, the Special Adviser on Vocational and Technical Education to Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Governor.

In a condolence message to the family of Professor Odemuyiwa, the senator stated that the loss of the erudite and prolific professor at this time is a great loss not only to the Odemuyiwa family and the people of Ogun State to the nation as his services and experiences over the years in the education sector and politics is much needed for the development of our society stressing that Professor Odemuyiwa combines his academic and intellectual work admirably with grassroots politics for the enthronement of good governance.

“I am greatly pained and sad at the demise of Professor Odemuyiwa who was a close political associate of mine in Ogun State as far back as 2012. He was always forthright in his analysis of the politics and governance in Ogun State and his contributions to the development of education, particularly vocational and technical education, remains unassailable” he stated.

Senator Adeola prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the erudite professor and the fortitude for the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Similarly, the Senator has condoled with the family of Mr. Igbeyinadun Ogunfuyi, popularly called Same, the Secretary to Yewa South LGA, SLG, who slumped and died yesterday at Ilaro.

Senator Adeola stated that his demise has left a vacuum not only in his family but in the administration of the Local Government where he has served admirably for over two years.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and the fortitude for the family to bear the irreparable loss.
