OGP Congratulates Yayi, Rallies Ogun Indigenes to Bring Their Votes Home
Ogun State Pathfinder has congratulated Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) on the commissioning of his campaign office in Abeokuta, describing the development as a significant milestone in the build-up to the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
According to an e-signed statement by the Convener, Comrade Agbeyangi, the group noted that the establishment of the campaign office demonstrates strategic planning, political preparedness, and a clear commitment to engaging with the people across the state ahead of the election.
“We congratulate Senator Solomon Adeola on this important achievement. The commissioning of a campaign office in the state capital is not merely a symbolic event; it reflects organisation, readiness, and a determination to connect with the electorate.
“We believe this timely initiative has the potential to accelerate the momentum of his campaign,” the group said.
Using the occasion, Ogun State Pathfinder passionately appealed to thousands of Ogun indigenes residing in other parts of Nigeria to take advantage of the opportunity provided by law to transfer their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and voter registration to Ogun State, so they can actively participate in choosing the leaders who will shape the state’s future.
The group observed that many eligible Ogun voters currently have their voter registration in states where they work or reside, making them unable to vote in the governorship election unless they complete the transfer process before the deadline set by the electoral authorities.
“Ogun belongs to all of us, irrespective of where we currently live. Every eligible indigene who desires to have a say in the future leadership of our dear state should take advantage of the provisions of the Electoral Act by transferring their voter registration to the polling unit where they intend to vote in Ogun State before the election,” the statement added.
The group emphasised that increased voter participation would strengthen democracy and ensure that the choice of the next governor truly reflects the collective will of the people of Ogun State.
Ogun State Pathfinder further encouraged political stakeholders, youth groups, professionals, artisans, market associations, students, and community leaders to intensify civic awareness on voter registration updates and PVC transfers, stressing that active participation remains the strongest instrument for shaping good governance.
The group wished Senator Adeola a peaceful, issue-based, and successful campaign, expressing optimism that healthy political competition and increased citizen participation would further strengthen democratic governance in Ogun State.
