Tinubu Ends Six-Day Lagos Stay, Returns To Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after spending six days in Lagos following his annual vacation in Europe.

The President departed Lagos on Monday evening for the Federal Capital Territory, bringing his private and official engagements in the state to an end.

His return was confirmed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement titled, “President Tinubu Returns to Abuja.”Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, after concluding his annual holiday in London and Paris.

During his stay, the President delivered his Independence Day address on October 1, marking Nigeria’s 66th anniversary.

In the national broadcast, Tinubu declared that the country had moved beyond what he described as the “age of reform” and was entering an “age of prosperity.

”The President also attended the national premiere of MKO, a documentary chronicling the life, political struggle and legacy of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, as well as the historic June 12 pro-democracy struggle.

The premiere was held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos.On Sunday, Tinubu paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the monarch’s Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island.

The President had travelled to Europe earlier in September for his annual vacation, spending time in the United Kingdom and France.During his stay in Paris, Tinubu was also reported to have held a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace on September 17.

With his Lagos engagements concluded, the President has now returned to Abuja to resume his official duties.
