Kate Henshaw Slams Tinubu Govt Over Blackout

Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has slammed the Minister of Power over the persistent electricity crisis in Nigeria, questioning the government’s explanation for the country’s unreliable power supply.

In a video she posted via her Instagram handle, the actress expressed frustration over the poor electricity supply, challenging the minister to identify Nigerians who allegedly complained that the continuous power supply was affecting items stored in their freezers.

Addressing the minister, Henshaw said: “Mr Minister of Power, there’s no light. There’s hardly been light. You people will bring it, and then give minutes; it’s gone.

“You were credited with a statement that in September, some people were telling you that you should turn off the power because the things in their freezer were freezing. What is a freezer for?

“Like the lies you people tell. I need the names and numbers of these people that called you and said you should turn off the light or you should slow down.”

The actress further lamented that Nigerians were still battling unreliable electricity supply in 2026, noting that power sometimes lasts for only five minutes before going off.

She said the situation had forced many households to operate like factories by relying on generators and solar energy to carry out basic daily activities.

Expressing further anger over the situation, Henshaw questioned why Nigerians were still struggling with inadequate electricity despite the passage of so many years.

She also lamented the high cost of living and the intense heat, asking why citizens should endure additional hardship due to poor power supply.
