Court Remands Blord in Kuje Over Alleged Identity Fraud Against VeryDarkMan
A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded Nigerian businessman and cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, at the Kuje Correctional Centre for 26 days over alleged identity theft and related offences involving social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan.
Blord, founder of the Blord Group, was arraigned on Wednesday on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the unauthorised use of a public figure’s identity. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The case followed a petition filed by VeryDarkMan, who accused the businessman of using his name and image without consent to promote business ventures and products.
According to the activist, Blord allegedly forged documents, including a flight ticket bearing his name, and publicly claimed that he had secured a N500 million endorsement deal with him. He further alleged that promotional materials and billboards carrying his image were produced without his authorisation to market certain applications and products.
VeryDarkMan maintained that he does not engage in paid advertisements or brand endorsements and described the claims as false and misleading.
After the charges were read in court, the presiding judge ordered that Blord be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further hearing. The matter has been adjourned until April 27, 2026, when proceedings are expected to continue.
Blord is to remain in custody until the next court date.
The court is expected to determine the merits of the case as the trial progresses.
