2 min read

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ijebu Ode Local Government area of Ogun State embraced peace that has eluded the Ogun state chapter of the Party since 2011 as a result of the reconciliation of the two main camps.

The reconciliation of the Lado and Buruji camps was brokered by the Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu and Asiwaju Oladapo Odumosu on Thursday, 15th April, 2021 at Ijebu Ode.

The peace meeting which lasted hours had in attendance all the leaders and Party Executive members from both factions.

While addressing the meeting, Odumosu said “as you can see today, we are able to achieve the reconciliation of our stakeholders in our local government and by extension the reconciliation of the entire Ogun PDP members as one United family. With this we have achieved a milestone as leaders of this great party, our primary mandate now, is the reconciliation of our members across the wards towards rebuilding and repositioning of this party at all levels”.

On his part, Adebutu noted that the coming together of the factions was paramount to the success of the party in the state.

He stated: “We are here on this important mission, of which, I need not tell you what happened in Ogun State in the past ten years but you can see where it has led us. We must understand that the most important thing for us at this time is our coming together, which is paramount for any success now and in the future”.

He added that “we are all human beings and we make mistakes; when mistakes happen, it is left for us to use either as a source of strength or weakness. I hope our own mistake will serve as a source of strength for all of us as members of PDP in particular and also the country in general”.
