2027: Prophet Ikuru Urges Nigerians to Shun Violence, Rallies Support for Tinubu

The Founder of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, has called for an end to violence and insecurity across Nigeria, urging citizens to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as preparations gradually build toward the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the cleric said national unity and stability remain critical to Nigeria’s sustained progress. He commended President Tinubu’s leadership since assuming office in 2023, noting that several campaign promises have been implemented despite prevailing challenges.
Prophet Ikuru expressed concern over the recent wave of attacks in parts of the country, particularly in Plateau and Benue states, describing the development as a serious setback to national growth. He condemned the killings and warned that continued bloodshed threatens the country’s peace and development. According to him, insecurity remains Nigeria’s most pressing challenge and must be confronted collectively.
The cleric also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and political stakeholders across party lines including the PDP, Labour Party, ADC and others to work together to ensure peaceful political engagements ahead of 2027. He stressed that political differences should never override national interest.
Responding to criticisms over rising living costs, Ikuru defended the Tinubu administration, arguing that the president should not be solely blamed for increasing market prices. He explained that Nigeria’s heavy dependence on imported goods significantly affects local prices, adding that ongoing economic reforms are gradually stabilizing the system.
Highlighting what he described as key achievements of the administration, Ikuru referenced the removal of fuel subsidy, the student loan scheme (NELFUND), efforts toward local government autonomy, the coastal road project, and renewed bilateral relations. He added that strengthening fiscal policies, enforcing tax compliance, and reducing import dependence are essential steps toward long-term economic growth.
Prophet Ikuru reaffirmed his confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, recalling that he had predicted the president’s victory in 2022. He expressed optimism that Tinubu would secure re-election in 2027 and consolidate ongoing reforms.
On security operations, the cleric called on the Nigerian Air Force to intensify efforts against insurgency and provide greater transparency regarding recent coordinated operations in parts of northern Nigeria.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to reject divisive rhetoric, embrace unity, and work collectively toward building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
