Chelsea Sack Coach After Poor Results
Chelsea FC have dismissed head coach Liam Rosenior following a string of poor results that have derailed the club’s season.
The decision comes after a worrying run of five consecutive Premier League defeats, with the Blues failing to score in any of those matches. Their struggles were further highlighted by a heavy 3–0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, a performance widely criticised by fans and pundits.
Rosenior, who took over the role earlier this year, had initially shown signs of progress but was unable to sustain momentum as results continued to decline. Chelsea’s drop down the league table has significantly weakened their chances of securing a spot in European competitions next season.
In an official statement, the club thanked Rosenior for his efforts and professionalism during his time in charge but acknowledged that recent performances did not meet expectations.
Chelsea have now appointed Calum McFarlane as interim head coach until the end of the season. He will work alongside the current backroom staff as the club seeks to steady its campaign and salvage a place in Europe, while also competing in domestic cup fixtures.
