Ferran Torres Joins PSG on Five-Year Deal
Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Spanish forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona, with the World Cup winner agreeing to a contract that will keep him at the French champions until 2031.
The French club confirmed the transfer on Saturday, announcing that Torres will wear the iconic No. 9 shirt.
Born in Foios, Spain, in 2000, Torres began his football journey in futsal before joining Valencia’s academy at the age of seven. He progressed through the club’s youth system and made his La Liga debut in December 2017 against Eibar, becoming the first player born in the 21st century to feature in the competition.
Torres made 97 appearances for Valencia before moving to Manchester City in 2020. During his time at the Premier League club, he won the Premier League and League Cup and helped City reach the 2021 Champions League final.
He later joined Barcelona in January 2022, where he established himself as a key attacking option. Torres made 207 appearances for the Catalan giants, scoring 65 goals and winning three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
His international career has also been decorated with major honours. Torres represented Spain at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup before helping the national team win the Nations League in 2023 and the European Championship in 2024.
He most recently played a starring role in Spain’s World Cup triumph in North America, scoring the decisive goal in extra time against Argentina in the final and earning the Man of the Match award.
Torres expressed his excitement over the move, thanking PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving him the opportunity to begin a new chapter in Paris.
The 26-year-old forward will now look to add to PSG’s growing list of honours as he begins his latest challenge under Luis Enrique.
