36,000 Nigerians to Get Free AI, Tech Training Under FG Programme



The Federal Government has opened opportunities for Nigerians to acquire artificial intelligence and other high-demand digital skills at no cost through its Digital Training Academy.


The programme, implemented under the National Skilling Project in partnership with Coursera, is designed to equip Nigerians with skills needed to improve their employability and participation in the digital economy.


According to the Digital Training Academy, 36,000 Nigerians are expected to benefit from the programme, with training available across all 37 states of the country.

The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning track focuses on developing intelligent systems using AI, machine learning and deep-learning technologies.


The academy says the courses are delivered through Coursera, giving participants access to training from experts and institutions around the world.

The programme is open to Nigerians interested in acquiring new digital skills or improving their existing professional knowledge.


Students, job seekers and working professionals can apply, particularly those seeking to enter the technology sector or strengthen their competitiveness in the digital economy.


How to register


Interested applicants are required to register through the Digital Training Academy portal.
The registration process starts with creating an account using a National Identification Number and phone number.


Applicants must then complete their profiles by providing details about their background, interests and career goals.


After completing the profile, applicants will take a pre-assessment to determine their existing skill level. The result will be used to recommend an appropriate learning pathway.
