The Oloworo of Oworosoki, Oba Babatunde Saliu Elebo II, has offered prayers for the residents of Oworosoki and the entire community as they join other Yoruba communities in Nigeria and across the world to celebrate this year’s Isese Day.
The traditional ruler, in his palace, prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and protection for the people, while seeking divine blessings for the community and its residents.
He also urged everyone to use the occasion to reflect on the importance of Yoruba culture and traditional values.
Oba Elebo II emphasised that Isese remains an important part of Yoruba heritage, describing the celebration as an opportunity for the people to appreciate, preserve and pass their cultural identity and traditions from one generation to another.
The Oloworo cautioned against actions capable of tarnishing or undermining Yoruba culture, urging traditional institutions, families and community members to uphold the values, customs and traditions that have shaped the identity of the Yoruba people over the years.
He further called on the younger generation to take greater interest in their cultural heritage, stressing that the preservation of culture requires collective responsibility and conscious efforts by both the young and old.
The monarch wished the people of Oworosoki and the entire community a peaceful and meaningful Isese Day celebration, praying that the occasion would bring renewed unity, prosperity and greater development to the community.
