Tinubu Meets Re-Elected Adeleke at Aso Rock After Osun Victory
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received the re-elected Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a closed-door meeting.
Adeleke arrived at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa at about 5:25pm, dressed in navy-blue traditional attire and carrying a walking stick. He arrived in a black Toyota Land Cruiser alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The meeting marks Adeleke’s first official engagement with President Tinubu since his victory in the recent Osun State governorship election.
The President had earlier personally congratulated Adeleke on his re-election, describing the outcome as an assurance that democracy would continue to thrive in Nigeria.
Tinubu also urged the governor to unite the people of Osun State and work for the interests of all residents irrespective of their political affiliations.
Several members of Adeleke’s team were also seen at the Presidential Villa, including the Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; a member of the council, Sunday Bisi; the governor’s Chief of Staff, Akinleye Kazeem; and the member representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam.
The details and outcome of the closed-door meeting were not immediately disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
