Cubana Chiefpriest Accepts Live DNA Test to End Long-Running Paternity Dispute With Kenyan Woman

Popular Nigerian socialite and businessman, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has declared his readiness to undergo a public DNA test in a bid to resolve the lingering paternity dispute involving a Kenyan woman, Hellen Ati.

Chiefpriest made the declaration in a series of comments on Instagram after a viral video of Ati appealing for help over the welfare of her son was featured on a national television programme.

In the emotional video, Ati said she had been raising the child alone and was struggling financially, revealing that the boy was ill and that she had exhausted her resources on medical treatment. She urged the businessman to accept responsibility if the child was confirmed to be his.

Responding to calls from social media users to submit to a DNA test, Chiefpriest said he was willing to do so publicly.

“Make Una help me bring her and the child for una studio make I come there come do the DNA for una on live TV for free,” he wrote.

Reacting to criticisms over the prolonged controversy, the businessman insisted he would not send money to someone making allegations against him online, maintaining that it was the claimant’s responsibility to present the child for testing.

He also dismissed accusations that he was avoiding responsibility, stressing that anyone claiming he fathered a child should bring the child forward for verification rather than making repeated videos on social media.

The paternity dispute has lingered since 2023 after Ati alleged that her son was conceived following a brief encounter with Chiefpriest in Lagos in 2022.

She has consistently maintained that the businessman is the child’s father and has repeatedly demanded a DNA test while claiming she has single-handedly catered for the child’s needs.

Chiefpriest, however, has continued to deny knowing Ati or fathering her child, insisting that the allegations were designed to tarnish his reputation and affect his family.

The controversy gained renewed attention in January 2025 during Chiefpriest’s public feud with singer Burna Boy, who openly backed Ati’s demand for a DNA test and reportedly offered to sponsor her trip to Nigeria, although the arrangement never materialised.

Ati has also alleged that shortly after the birth of her son in January 2023, Chiefpriest sent her a total of N300,000 in instalments to assist with baby supplies despite denying paternity.

With Chiefpriest now publicly expressing his willingness to undergo a live DNA test, attention is expected to shift to whether both parties can agree on a date and venue to finally settle the long-running dispute.
