Carter Efe Mocks Babcock Certificate Controversy, Says University Must ‘Pay’ to See Him
Nigerian comedian and streamer, Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, has reacted to the controversy surrounding a certificate allegedly linked to him, joking that Babcock University would have to pay before meeting with him.
The content creator made the remarks during a livestream on Monday night while selling akara alongside fellow creators Kolu and Destiny.
Responding to reports that the university was searching for him over the disputed certificate, Carter Efe said in Pidgin that Babcock would not be able to see him unless it paid ₦100,000 as a “ticket” fee, adding that he and his team would soon visit the institution.
His comments come amid the ongoing controversy following Babcock University’s disowning of a certificate circulating online in his name.
The university had described the document as fake, stating that it does not issue the type of certificate being circulated and warning that it was considering legal action over the matter.
The controversy has continued to generate widespread reactions on social media, with many users debating the authenticity of the document and Carter Efe’s response to the university’s position.
Neither Carter Efe nor Babcock University had announced any formal resolution to the matter as of the time of filing this report.
