Davido to Address Security, INEC Transparency Ahead of Osun Governorship Poll
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set to address journalists and the public on Wednesday over security concerns, the preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and other issues surrounding the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
The media briefing is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Imole House, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo.
Announcing the event via his social media platform on Tuesday, Davido disclosed that the briefing would focus on security, electoral transparency, and other key matters ahead of the governorship poll.
The singer, who was recently named Chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Committee for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign, has intensified his political involvement in support of his uncle’s second-term bid.
According to the invitation for the event, the press conference will address issues relating to security, INEC’s conduct, transparency, and other developments concerning the 2026 Osun governorship election.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking re-election in the August 15 governorship poll. In recent weeks, Davido has actively participated in campaign activities across the state, leading youth mobilisation efforts and engaging supporters as the election draws closer.
The expected briefing comes amid heightened political activities and growing public interest in the conduct of the election, with stakeholders calling for a peaceful, free and credible electoral process.
