Eid: Egungbohun Felicitates Mu’minūn, Beseeches Al-Mu’min for Swift, Safe Rescue of Abducted Teachers, Students
As Muslims across the world celebrate the 2026 Eid al-Adha, the Oluomo of Yewaland, Chief Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, has felicitated Mu’minūn worldwide, expressing profound gratitude to Al-Mu’min for the grace to witness the sacred festival.
Chief Egungbohun, in an e-signed goodwill message delivered from Madinah, the Holy Land, called on Nigerians to reflect deeply on the spiritual significance of Eid al-Adha by embracing the virtues of obedience, sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
He urged citizens to extend love and support to the less privileged, promote unity across ethnic and religious lines, and continue to work collectively toward building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Nigeria.
The renowned businessman, community leader, and statesman also expressed deep sorrow over the recent wave of insecurity and abductions across the country, noting that the joy of the festive season remains incomplete while innocent teachers, students, and other victims remain in captivity.
According to him:
“We stand in total solidarity with the grieving families in Oyo, Ogbomoso, Borno, and other parts of Nigeria. Our hearts are with every teacher and student taken from their schools and homes.
During this holy season of answered prayers, while I beseech Al-Mu’min to soften the hearts of the captors, I pray for a swift, safe, and miraculous rescue of all victims”.
Chief Egungbohun further urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in faith, prayer, and hope for lasting peace and security across the nation.
He also prayed for divine wisdom and guidance upon the nation’s leadership, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, so that the administration’s decisions may strengthen restructuring efforts, improve security, and deepen national unity and prosperity as Nigeria approaches the 2027 General Elections.
The Oluomo of Yewaland concluded by calling on all Nigerians to continue praying for peace, stability, and progress, while embracing the enduring values of sacrifice, tolerance, and selflessness which Eid al-Adha represents.
