Fire Engulfs Federal Mortgage Bank Headquarters in Abuja
A fire outbreak on Saturday night engulfed the headquarters of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria in Abuja.
The incident reportedly began on the fourth floor of the bank’s headquarters, located opposite the Central Bank of Nigeria headquarters, before spreading to the upper section of the building.
Eyewitnesses said firefighters were swiftly deployed to the scene and battled to contain the flames to prevent further damage.
A resident, who shared images of the incident on social media, said the fire spread rapidly across the top floor despite efforts by emergency responders.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had yet to be determined. There was also no official confirmation of casualties or the extent of damage caused by the incident.
Authorities, including the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and emergency agencies, had not issued an official statement on the fire at press time.
Emergency responders were still at the scene working to bring the situation under control.
