IG Appoints Abimbola Adebisi as New Lagos Police Spokesperson

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Superintendent of Police Abimbola Adebisi as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Lagos State Command.
Her appointment, announced in a statement on Monday by Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Babasayi Oluseyi on behalf of the Lagos Commissioner of Police, follows the elevation of former spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin to Force PRO.
Adebisi holds degrees in English Language and Literature from Tai Solarin University of Education, Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, and a Master’s in English from the National Open University of Nigeria. She also has professional certifications from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Accra, and has attended the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos.
A member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, she also belongs to international professional bodies, including the International Public Relations Association, International Association of Women Police, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Her career experience spans postings as Staff Officer to the DIG, Operations, and Personal Assistant to the CP, Special Protection Unit. Until her new role, she served as PPRO Liaison Officer at the SPU, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The Lagos Command, while welcoming her, assured residents and the media of her readiness to deepen police-community engagement in line with the IGP’s vision.
