Lagos State Local Government Elections: A Beacon Of Hope For Our Democracy – Olugbenga Shittu
The recently conducted local government elections in Lagos State have come and gone, and I am thrilled to say that it was a great success. As a good citizen of Nigeria and Ikorodu Federal Constituency, I am proud to see the enthusiasm and dedication of our people in exercising their franchise.
The elections were a testament to the strength of our democracy, and I commend the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for conducting a peaceful and transparent exercise. The outcome of the elections will undoubtedly usher in a new era of leadership and development in our constituencies.
As a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I am delighted to see our party’s candidates emerging victorious in various local government areas, including Ikorodu Federal Constituency. Our elected chairmen and councilors will work tirelessly to address the needs of our people and drive progress in our constituencies. I urge our voters to continue to stand by our party and expect better performances from our elected officials.
The grassroots, being the backbone of our party and the foundation of our democracy, are the heartbeat of our progress. They are the true drivers of change and development in our constituencies. As such, I charge our elected officials to always prioritize the needs and welfare of the grassroots, to listen to their concerns, and to work tirelessly to address their challenges.
As we move forward, I encourage our people to remain steadfast in their commitment to the APC and the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We must continue to uphold the values of progressivism and work together to build a brighter future for our nation.
