Ogogo’s Family Denies Daughter Welcomed Baby Boy

The family of late Nollywood actor and screenwriter, Taiwo “Ogogo” Hassan, has debunked reports circulating on social media claiming that his daughter, Shakirat “Kira” Taiwo, recently gave birth to a baby boy.

The report, which was accompanied by a video describing the newborn as “My Daddy’s Carbon Copy,” had circulated widely online, with some claims suggesting that the baby was born shortly after Ogogo’s burial.

However, the family dismissed the report as false and urged the public to disregard the information.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, one of Ogogo’s daughters, Haleemah “Lima” Taiwo, clarified that Kira had not given birth.

She said the family had received several calls and messages from friends and relatives seeking clarification over the viral report, prompting them to publicly address the issue.

Lima appealed to members of the public to stop spreading or sharing unverified information about the family, especially as they continue to mourn the death of their father.

“At a time when our family is mourning the loss of our father, we kindly ask everyone to stop spreading or sharing unverified information about our family,” she said.

She also thanked well-wishers for their prayers and understanding, while appealing for privacy during the family’s difficult period.
Ogogo, a veteran of Yoruba cinema, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.

He was buried according to Islamic rites the following day in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State.
