Prince Taofeeq Fatai Adeyemi Emiolu Pays Homage To The Alaafin Of Oyo Kingdom
In a significant gesture of tradition, loyalty, and cultural reverence, (Omooba) Prince Taofeeq Fatai Adeyemi Adeleke Emiolu of the Iresa-Adu Kingdom recently paid a courtesy visit to the historic palace of His Imperial Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Abdul Akeem Abimbola Owoade Elewu Etu I, the Alaafin of Oyo Kingdom—fondly revered as Iku Baba Yeye, Kabiyesi ooo.
The royal visit, which took place at the Alaafin’s palace in Oyo, was marked by deep cultural symbolism, humility, and a shared vision for the continued development and prosperity of Iresa-Adu Kingdom and its people. Prince Taofeeq, accompanied by close allies and cultural emissaries, was warmly received by the royal court and the Alaafin himself, one of the most respected traditional rulers in Yoruba land.
Speaking during the visit, Prince Taofeeq emphasized that the purpose of his homage was rooted in respect for tradition, unity among Yoruba kingdoms, and the advancement of Iresa-Adu. “This visit is not only symbolic of our respect for the revered stool of the Alaafin, but it also strengthens the bond between Oyo and Iresa-Adu,” he stated.
He further reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the progress (Igbega) and development (Ilosiwaju) of the Iresa-Adu Kingdom, saying:
“Igbega ati ilosiwaju ilu Iresa-Adu Kingdom lojemi logun oooo!”
(“The growth and development of Iresa-Adu Kingdom remains my highest priority.”)
His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdul Akeem Abimbola Owoade Elewu Etu I, in his remarks, commended Prince Taofeeq for his loyalty to the crown and his dedication to his people. The monarch blessed the Prince and prayed for wisdom and strength as he continues to champion community-driven initiatives back home.
