Rising Insecurity Under APC Underscores Nigerians’ Need For Change In 2027 — Toyin Amuzu

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE A prominent chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and House of Representatives aspirant for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Chief Toyin Amuzu, has expressed deep concern over the growing insecurity across the country, saying the situation under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has become alarming and calls for urgent political change.
Chief Amuzu, who is also the Leragun of Egbaland, made the remarks while addressing party supporters and residents in Abeokuta, where he lamented what he described as the worsening security challenges affecting lives and property in many parts of Nigeria.
According to him, many Nigerians now live in fear due to persistent incidents of kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, and other criminal activities, despite promises made by the APC-led government to improve security and the welfare of citizens.
The PDP stalwart alleged that the ruling party came to power through promises that have failed to translate into meaningful improvements in the lives of ordinary Nigerians. He noted that insecurity remains one of the most pressing challenges confronting the nation and has negatively impacted economic activities, businesses, and social development.
“Today, many Nigerians can no longer travel freely or sleep with both eyes closed. The level of insecurity across the country is a clear indication that a change is needed as soon as possible,” Amuzu said.
He maintained that effective leadership, people-oriented policies, and accountable governance are necessary to restore public confidence and ensure the safety of citizens.
The House of Representatives hopeful called on eligible voters in Abeokuta South Federal Constituency to support the People’s Democratic Party in the 2027 general elections, assuring them of quality representation and responsive leadership if elected.
Amuzu pledged to champion legislation and initiatives aimed at improving security, empowering youths, supporting small businesses, and attracting developmental projects to the constituency.
He emphasized that elected representatives must remain accessible to the people and prioritize their welfare above personal interests.
“Our people deserve representation that listens, understands their challenges, and works tirelessly to address them. The PDP remains committed to delivering people-oriented services and policies that will improve the standard of living of Nigerians,” he stated.
The PDP chieftain further urged residents to actively participate in the democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and supporting candidates with proven records of service and commitment to community development.
Political observers believe that discussions around security, economic hardship, and governance are likely to dominate campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections as political parties intensify efforts to win the confidence of voters across the country.
Chief Amuzu reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Abeokuta South Federal Constituency and expressed confidence that the electorate would make informed decisions in the interest of progress, security, and sustainable development.
