Morocco, backed by a vociferous home crowd, pressed aggressively in search of a breakthrough, while Senegal remained composed and defensively solid, matching the hosts in midfield battles and attacking intent.
The decisive moment arrived in extra time, when Senegal produced a moment of quality that finally separated the two sides. A well-taken goal proved enough to settle the contest, sending the Senegalese players and supporters into wild celebrations.

The final whistle confirmed Senegal’s triumph, sealing a memorable AFCON campaign and denying Morocco the dream of lifting the trophy on home soil. Despite the defeat, Morocco earned praise for their spirited performance and resilience throughout the tournament.

Senegal’s victory marks another proud chapter in their football history, as they once again asserted their status among Africa’s elite nations on the continent’s biggest stage.
