Victor Osimhen Eyes University Degree After Football

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has expressed his determination to return to school and obtain a university degree after bringing his football career to an end, describing education as a lifelong investment.

Speaking during an interview with Instablog TV, the Galatasaray striker said that although football has given him global recognition and success, he still hopes to fulfil his academic ambitions once he retires from the game.

Osimhen explained that life itself has been a great teacher, but believes formal education remains an important achievement worth pursuing.

“As an adult, not everything I learned came from school. There are certain life lessons you only gain through experience and life’s journey,” he said.
The 27-year-old noted that a footballer’s career is limited, making it necessary to prepare for life beyond the pitch.

“I would love to earn a degree. It is something I am seriously considering because football doesn’t last forever. You can play for 20 or 25 years, and then it’s over,” he added.

Despite saying he already has plans and opportunities for life after retirement, Osimhen maintained that obtaining a university degree would serve as a personal milestone and inspire younger people to value education.

According to him, returning to school would help set a positive example for the next generation, proving that learning should never stop regardless of career achievements.

He also encouraged young people who were forced to suspend their education due to financial difficulties or other personal challenges not to give up on their academic dreams.

“Even if you had to drop out because of challenges, you can always go back. School will always be there,” Osimhen said.

Although the Super Eagles star did not disclose when he intends to enrol or the course he plans to study, his comments have been widely applauded by fans, who described his message as an inspiring reminder that education remains valuable at every stage of life.
