Chief Joju Fadairo Bows Out, Announces Retirement from Partisan Politics

A prominent political figure in Ogun State, Chief Joju Fadairo, has formally announced his retirement from partisan politics, declaring that he will no longer be affiliated with or aligned to any political party.
Fadairo made the announcement on Wednesday during a world press conference held at his private residence in the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Abeokuta, describing the decision as a personal one reached after careful reflection and without any external influence.
Addressing journalists, the veteran politician emphasized that his withdrawal from active politics was neither prompted by pressure nor hidden motives but by the conviction that he had made his contributions to the political development of Ogun State and Nigeria over several decades.
According to him, “This decision is purely personal and devoid of any hidden motives or external pressures. It is a well-considered choice made after deep reflection.”
He noted that having served at both the state and national levels, the time had come for him to step aside and embrace a new phase of life, adding that “there is a season for everything.”
Chief Fadairo expressed profound appreciation to his family, political associates, supporters, well-wishers and members of the media for their unwavering support throughout his political journey.
The former political leader declared that, with immediate effect, he would remain nonpartisan and serve as a father figure to all, irrespective of political affiliation.
He also disclosed that his retirement from active politics would afford him more time to contribute to the development of his community and Ogun State, while enabling him to devote greater attention to his traditional responsibilities as the Asiwaju of Ifoland and Fiwagbayi of Egbaland.
Reaffirming his position, Fadairo stated that he would no longer participate in partisan political activities and wished his former political associates success in their future endeavours.
The announcement marks the end of an era for one of Ogun State’s longstanding political figures, whose influence has spanned several decades in the state’s political landscape.
