Osun ADC Calls for Voter Rejection of APC in 2027 Elections

The Osun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has boldly urged voters to dismiss the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections, asserting that the APC has demonstrated an inability to effectively govern the country.

This call to action follows recent allegations from the APC claiming that the ADC has not paid its staff for over a year.

The ADC swiftly countered these claims, labeling them as a misguided attempt by the APC to undermine its credibility and divert attention from critical issues like economic hardship and escalating insecurity.

Oluwaseun Abosede, the ADC’s Publicity Secretary, stressed that the APC’s accusations lack substance and serve only as a distraction from its own failures.

“Nigerians are seeking leadership that provides results, not empty promises,” he emphasized, urging voters to prioritize the nation’s pressing needs.

The ADC further accused the APC of unfairly targeting Rauf Aregbesola, the ADC National Secretary, attempting to reduce his successful eight-year tenure as Osun State governor to a single point of criticism.

The party highlighted Aregbesola’s significant achievements in education, infrastructure, and healthcare during his administration.

Notable accomplishments included the construction of 170 model schools, the launch of the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (O-YES), and the creation of the Osun Ambulance Service for improved emergency medical response.

The ADC also pointed to various social welfare initiatives, such as the Agba Osun program for senior citizens and the O-Widow initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable groups.

They criticized the APC for what they termed intellectual dishonesty in its attacks, ignoring the broader context of Aregbesola’s governance.

Concluding their statement, the ADC called on Nigerians to demand accountable leadership that prioritizes their welfare.

“Now is the time to reject political propaganda and embrace a new direction for our country,” they urged.

As the 2027 elections approach, the ADC seeks to position itself as a compelling alternative to the ruling party, encouraging voters to stand against the status quo and advocate for a government that genuinely addresses their concerns.
