2027: PDP’s Ayoade Promises People-Focused Representation in Ifo II
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Ifo Constituency II, Hon. Omotunde Ayoade, has promised to usher in a new era of responsive, transparent and people-focused representation if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Ayoade, who made the commitment in a statement released by his media office, noted that effective legislative engagement must go beyond mere campaign promises to embrace a system anchored on continuous accessibility and public accountability.
According to him, the constituents deserve an active representative who will directly incorporate their needs into legislative decisions, executive policies and state-backed development programmes.
“Accountability, accessibility and measurable impact will be the defining principles of my representation,” Ayoade stated. “Our people deserve a representative who will not only occupy a seat in the House of Assembly but will ensure their voices count where it matters most.”
He explained that his legislative agenda would prioritise strategic partnerships and bills designed to improve access to quality education, primary healthcare, youth empowerment, skills acquisition, employment and basic infrastructure across the constituency.
To ensure structured engagement, the PDP candidate pledged to establish a regular feedback framework that would enable constituents to evaluate his performance, track sponsored bills and motions, and contribute directly to community initiatives.
“Representation must be a two-way street,” he added. “We will establish clear channels through which the people can communicate their pressing needs, monitor our committee engagements and offer ideas for sustainable growth. Good representation must be felt, seen and measured.”
Ayoade further noted that his team would collaborate closely with traditional institutions, community leaders, youth bodies, women’s organisations and religious leaders to address immediate local challenges.
Addressing recent political developments in the area, the PDP candidate cautioned members of the ruling All Progressives Congress against destroying campaign materials donated by his supporters.
He urged his political opponents and their followers to maintain decorum and allow their performance in office to speak for them rather than resorting to intimidation.
“If the incumbent has performed well, his track record should speak for him. There is no need for him or his supporters to feel agitated or resort to pulling down posters and banners donated by friends and well wishers,” Ayoade remarked.
Calling on residents, particularly youths, to take an active role in the upcoming democratic process, Ayoade expressed gratitude to the PDP leadership and loyalists for their support.
He assured the electorate that his ambition was strictly rooted in public service, urging the people of Ifo Constituency II to view the 2027 polls as a pivotal opportunity to choose accountable and dedicated leadership.
