Aare Oladotun Hassan Leads Solidarity March for Dangote Refinery, Tinubu’s Economic Vision
The Nigeria Coalition Group in collaboration with the Yoruba Council Worldwide has organized a solidarity protest in support of the Dangote Refinery and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The peaceful demonstration took place at the Lagos State House of Assembly, drawing attention to key national economic issues and policy implementation demands.
Speaking during the protest, the leader of the coalition and President of the Yoruba Council Worldwide, Aare (Barr.) Oladotun Hassan, called for the immediate implementation of the 15% import duty tax tariff and a total ban on the importation of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
Aare Hassan revealed that the group has credible information that the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) is lobbying for an extension of the importation window until the end of the first quarter of 2026. He urged the Federal Government to resist such pressure and instead grant 100% crude oil exploration and supply allocation to the Dangote Refinery to strengthen Nigeria’s energy independence and economic growth.
The coalition also condemned the alleged actions of Comrade Festus Osifo-led PENGASSAN, describing the union’s moves as “premeditated and orchestrated attempts to sabotage Dangote Refinery through false narratives, malicious allegations, and disruptive conduct.”
During the event, the protesters were received by Hon. Noheen Adam, who represented Ibeju-Lekki Constituency, alongside the Clerk of the House. They assured the group that their message would be duly conveyed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, and that the Assembly would respond appropriately in due time.
The Nigeria Coalition Group and the Yoruba Council Worldwide reaffirmed their unwavering support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Dangote Refinery project, emphasizing that both remain vital to Nigeria’s industrialization, job creation, and economic transformation.
